Malawian Musician Skeffa Chimoto has denied social media reports which said the music icon confessed in a program on one of the local radio stations that he has been introduced to Satanism by another local musician.

In an interview with Malawi24, Chimoto said the rumors are coming from jealous people who do not wish him well and want to tarnish his good reputation. “I didn’t want to say anything because I don’t normally fight back when something bad but false is being rumored about me,” said the Lilongwe based artist.

He emphasized that the story is fallacious and he has never been on any radio on the issue.

Chimoto: People want to tarnish my image.

“The truth is that I haven’t been to any radio station in the past ten months or so. The last radio program I had was at Galaxy FM in Lilongwe and it was a phone in program during the time of floods last year when musicians organized a show at Lilongwe golf club and I was one of the artists that were chosen to promote the show. So everything you are hearing is totally fake,” he said.

He further challenged people to go to the alleged radio station in order to prove if he really granted interview.

“You can go to that radio and ask them if I once had such a radio programme at their station. I know that when some people somewhere hate me, there are also many other people that love my work and I pray to God that He reminds them that it is a sin to tarnish an innocent person’s image,” said the Chinamuluma Chakuda hit maker..

He then told his fans that they should not worry about anything because he is still healthier and is planning to leave for Zimbabwe after celebrating his wife’s birthday where he will be recording some songs for his forthcoming album.
