The 22 year Malawi national football team forward turned down an offer to stay at Bloemfontein Celtic and opted to sign a pre-contract with Bidvest Wits in South Africa.
According to South Africa’s Kickoff Magazine, Gabadinho Mhango has signed three-year deal and is expected to join the University side on 1st July.
Wits CEO Jose Ferreira confirmed the development saying he will join them in the summer.
“Yes, he has signed a pre-contract with us,” Ferreira told Kickoff.com.
The former Big Bullets forward shined for Celtic in his debut season where and he was eventually named player of the season but failed to replicate his form due to persistent knee injuries.
He has a single goal to his name in the current Premier Soccer League season from five appearances so far.
His contract with his current club is set to expire at the end of the 2015/16 season.
