Joseph Kamwendo courts the wrath of Malawi football fans

Malawi national team ex  captain Joseph Kamwendo is in tag of war with football fans after the social media got awashed with reports that the out of favor TP Mazembe star is making a loan move to another Congolese side with other reports he will be joining his former club Mighty Wanderers.

This paper understands that Kamwendo who is missing in the Flames squad reacted to a Facebook post which football fans comments criticized him on his dwindled performance hence pushing for a move from TP Mazembe which just reached the CAF Champions league final.

The post read “Joseph Kamwendo is back, Neba samala”, which was posted by Blessings Allan in a Super League (pompo pompo kutenga 3 points) Facebook page.

This post attracted mixed reactions which most of them criticizing the former Orlando pirates player of poor performance a thing that angers Kamwendo.

Malawi24 understands that ‘Shakira’ sent a threatening message to one of the fans who revealed to this paper that they had a verbal war following his comment on the post.

” I commented on the post which I said (JK anatha), later I received a message from him (Kamwendo) in my Facebook inbox saying ‘kodi ayse ukupanga zaine za chamba et’. At first I didn’t believe its him and he sent me his 2 photos its then I realized it was him.”

” I told him clearly that public figures need to face criticism. Be it Presidents, world class players like Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi all face criticism and its real. This angered him and we even exchange vowels,” disclosed the source.

However, his inactiveness at club level has shown Kamwendo dropped by coach Ernest Mtawali for nation duties together with other senior players like Essau Kanyenda, Atusaye Nyondo, Harry Nyirenda and Fischer Kondowe.

He last played for the Flames jersey in June in 2-1 home defeat against Zimbabwe in the Afcon 2017 qualifiers.
