Ian Simbota says mob justice could end attacks on albinos.

Ian Simbota, a person with albinism and working with Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) radio 2, says mob justice is the only way to tackle cases of abductions and killings of people with albinism.

Simbota aired his views amid reports that over the past two years at least 65 people with albinism have been attacked for their body parts.

When asked if he is confident with the call by state president for police to add extra gear to combat the attacks, Simbota said he is not convinced with the president’s call and he added that he does not have confidence in Malawi’s justice system.

Meanwhile, the high court in Mzuzu has banned traditional healers from operating in the country as one way of curbing attacks against people with albinism.
