Ekhaya Football Club has parted ways with First Team Head Coach Enos Chatama with immediate effect, the club has announced.

In a statement issued Ekhaya FC said the decision follows a review by the club’s leadership and has been made in the best interests of the team and its objectives for the current season and beyond.

The club has, however, praised Chatama for his contribution during his time in charge, highlighting his role in guiding the team to a top-eight finish in its first season and securing the club’s maiden Airtel Top 8 trophy.

“Ekhaya Football Club would like to sincerely thank Mr. Enos Chatama for his commitment and contribution during his time with the club,” the statement reads.

Following Chatama’s departure, Fundi Akidi will take charge of the team as interim coach, assisted by Moses Chavula, as the club begins the process of determining its next permanent head coach.

The club has called on its players, technical staff, supporters and partners to remain united as the team goes through the transition.

“ The Club remains fully focused on its objectives for the season,” the statement said.

Chatama’s departure comes after a period in which he helped establish Ekhaya FC as a competitive side, capped by their success in the Airtel Top 8 competition.

The club has wished the coach success in his future endeavours.
