Acts 1 : 26 ” And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.”
The Apostles were to choose the replacer of Judas the Iscariot in Acts Chapter one before the Holy Spirit came. They therefore used lots to come up with a decision.
Another person in the Old Testament a judge called Gideon wanted to know the will of God. The Spirit of God had not yet come to stay and hence he used fleece to know the will of God. Judges 6 : 37 ” behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor.
If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.”
The Holy Spirit has now come from Acts 2 onwards. That is why when they wanted to choose the team of deacons to look after welfare of the saints in Acts 6, they neither used fleece nor lots. The Holy Spirit led them.
Even several other decisions made after the Holy Spirit came including whether believers should be circumcised or not in Acts 15, the Apostles were just led by the spirit. They came up with right decision. They didn’t use fleece nor lots.
Don’t live by lots or fleece where you tell God that if the person is to be one, let him put on blue shirt. The enemy can also send his in a blue shirt and you may be trapped. Let the Spirit of God lead you through your heart.
He speaks to you everyday. Familiarise yourself with His voice by studying and meditating on the Word of God. You can also fast and pray to listen to His voice. You will never go wrong. But if you use fleece and lots in this era you may go wrong.
There is an inner voice in you that confirms or that doesn’t agree with your action. Listen to that voice and will never go wrong.

I am lead by the Spirit of God and not by fleece or lot. I will never disobey His leading and I am a success through His leading now and always. In Jesus Name. Amen
