Axed Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) presenter Geoffrey Kapusa has disclosed that he was fired because of his stand against propaganda by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on the state broadcaster.

Kapusa disclosed that he faulted how MBC media practitioners were being used to advance the agendas of the ruling DPP.

Kapusa: I came out wrong.

“I expressed my opinion on why government ruling party failed with MBC at its disposal and seriously protected the institution and focused on some individuals who am sure are capable enough to do the much needed. Unfortunately I came out wrong. Very wrong,” explained Kapusa to his fellow Journalists.

The fired MBC presenter disclosed that his contract was terminated on 22 December last year after he worked for over fifteen years.

MBC has been criticized for advancing political agendas of the ruling parties despite getting funding from the general public.

The state broadcaster has also been used as a tool by ruling government to fight back those who oppose government policies.
