Malawian Afro Pop artist Smack says all is set for his new single titled Undipweteka scheduled to be out on his birthday, Tuesday, 22 November 2016.
In an interview with this publication, the Soche Technical College student said he is very happy because this is the first time in his life to celebrate his birthday while also releasing a new song as an artist.
“I want to celebrate my birthday in style, I want to be enjoying my day while listening to my brand new song together with my friends,” said Smacks.
The song Undipweteka has been produced by Chirimba based producer Gaffar Sungani of Audience Records and it features Blaze, composer of this year’s UMP song of the year Mwini Zinthu.
Asked on his motivation in the music fraternity which is currently clouded with young and new blood, the Ulanda hits maker said he smells a bright feature in his career because he has an inborn talent which he believe is the only strength and secret for his success in the music industry.
Asked his plans for the future, Smacks real name Samuel Kaira said that he is currently working on an album which consists some of the songs like Ukawale, Zakwathu featuring Nepman, Lekani and Tsala which are enjoying airplays in most of the local radio stations.
He further described himself as a messenger who carry different kind of messages to the public through his music. He mentioned of love, poverty, development, human rights violation, environment and everyday life experiences as some of the issues he tackles in his music career.
Smacks started his music journey in 2009 at the Ekwendeni Mission Hospital where he was a band leader of Resource Centre Band and he continued with the journey when he jointed Dan Lu’s Rockers Band as a vocalist in 2011 up to 2012 when he got out the band and became a solo artist.
