A 73 year-old woman in Nkhatabay is failing to come to terms with the situation she is in after criminals stole her eight cattle from a kraal.

The stolen cattle that include two bulls and six cows are valued at K1.9 million.

Malawi CattleAccording to Public Relations Officer of Police in Nkhatabay Ignatius Esau, the woman Chigogo Kaunda told police that on the evening of 7th November her employee brought back all the cattle from the dambo area where they grazed.

“The following morning, the old woman was left with no words when she found that all her cattle were nowhere to be seen,” said Esau.

The matter was reported to police and scene of incident was visited where it was noted that the rustlers gained entry through the kraal’s door.

Meanwhile, police in the district are appealing to people who may have seen or may have information that might assist in the recovery of the stolen cattle to furnish such with any nearest police station so that the long arm of the law should take its course.
