Mighty Wanderers coach Eddington Ng’onamo says his side will clinch the inaugural FISD Challenge Cup.
Wanderers swept aside Karonga United 3-nil on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in the preliminary stage of the competition courtesy of a brace from Khumbo Ng’ambi and a strike from Joseph Kamwendo.
The result gave confidence to Ng’onamo who said his side will win the cup as they are the cup specialists in Malawi.
It is in our tradition to win cups and we are definitely winning this one for our supporters who have been so royal to us.”
“The boys played very well and with this kind of performance, I am very optimistic of winning this competition,” he said.
The Nomads are coming from winning the Carlsberg Cup last month but they are finding it very difficult to perform wonders in league matches as they are on eighth position with 28 points from 19 games.
Their next assignment is against crosstown rivals Big Bullets in a league match that will be played at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
