President Peter Mutharika has condoled the Ngoni tribe and the bereaved family of Njolomole over the demise of Chief Njolomole.
Writing on his Facebook page, Mutharika said the first couple has learnt with deep sorrow the passing on of Traditional Authority Njolomole of Ntcheu.
Mutharika said the departed Ngoni chief – who ascended to the chieftaincy in 1964 – was instrumental in facilitating and supervising numerous development initiatives in the district in addition to his traditional duties to his subjects.
“I hereby express deep and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and all Ngonis for the loss. We have all lost a fountain of wisdom,” Mutharika wrote.
T/A Njolomole, real name Frackson Njolomole, died at the age of 89 at Ntcheu District Hospital after a long illness.
Burial ceremony is expected to take place Friday at his Mtchakhatha Headquarters.
