Dog eats newly born baby in Blantyre

As the calls for the legalisation of abortion are growing and the Church is still against the calls with the most recent case being the Pastoral letter by the Nkhoma synod, Malawi24 has a chilling report of a dumped baby who ended up being dog food.

According to Blantyre Police deputy spokesperson Sergeant Andrew Mayawo, a man on Sunday came into contact with a dog who was making lunch a newly born baby.

“A man who has been identified as Steven Lanken was going through his business when he chanced upon a dog eating something that looked like human flesh, upon close inspection it was discovered that it was a newly born baby,” Mayawo said.

The man then took the baby to a health centre and reported the matter to the police.

“The body was in bad shape that we didn’t even identify whether the child is male or female,” said Mayawo.

The mother of the child is unknown but the police believe that the woman dumped the baby.

The police have since pleaded with well-wishers to help in tracing the woman.
