Students at Soche Technical College in Blantyre are staging protests against what they say is failure by the management to offer them ‘proper’ diet.’

Students at the school say they have for several times asked the management to consider improving the diet they provide for them but their concerns have incessantly landed on deaf and ‘inconsiderate’ ears.

Breaking NewsOne of the students wrote to Malawi24 a few minutes ago that they hope that through the protests the management should now be able to take their concerns serious and therefore improve.

”You can imagine at times they give us boiled eggs not even without soup. How can we eat two eggs without soup with nsima? Are we not human beings. We have talked to them for so many times and they just do not want to hear us out. This is why we are protesting now.”wrote a student who asked not to be named by this publication.

Malawi24 also understands that the students suspect that some top management officials are embezzling money meant for their diet on the argument that since the facility is government run, it cannot be possible that government can throw away the need for proper diet to the students.

Malawi24 is yet to verify these claims.

As this post was made, students were chanting songs against the management which they call inhuman.
