Wanderers await Red Lions in Presidential Cup


Mighty Be Forward Wanderers’ game against Red Lions is the pick of the round of 16 draw as teams continue to battle it out in the race for the MK60 Million government sponsored cup.

The fixtures for the round of 16 were known yesterday after a national draw held at Mpira village in Blantyre.

The draw which was led by Sports Council board member Khrishna Achutan and Sulom vice-president Daud Suleman has up to five ties which will be involving Super League teams unless stated.

The draw bought 16 teams which all came out as winners in respective rounds. Seven teams were from the Southern Region, with five from the Central and the last four from the Northern Region.

* Moyale Barracks will however have to wait for the ruling by the Presidential Cup committee concerning the match between Masters Security and Civo United which ended prematurely on Wednesday.

*Maxi Bullets will also play against Wizards F.C after they won 11-1 against Hard Knockers.

*Silver Strikers will play Blue Eagles to play in a third round playoff next week to determine the 5th team from Central region as per the draw. Blue Eagles beat Dwangwa Town Hammers 7-1 on Thursday.

*Kabwafu United will play Mchengautuba. Kabwafu beat Manyamula F.C 2-1 while Mchengautuba won 5-1 over Ipota.
