The award winning audio producer Tricky Beats has hinted on making his own song after producing a number of hit songs which are enjoying airplay on different radio stations.
Tricky, real name Patrick Manyozo is one of a very few local urban music producers yet to register their names as singers or rappers, leaving all ears patiently waiting in anticipation.
If he can give it a hundred percent effort in perfecting other people’s songs, Malawians are expecting him to have double standards. However others have taken his idea of a song as a joke, making all sorts of mocking comments but from the look of things, he means it.
“Thinking of releasing my own song,” the producer wrote on his personal Facebook account.
The post attracted comments from some of notable artists he has worked with. Martse, and Kabol Lombwe have encouraged him to go ahead with the plan. The former said that as Manyozo’s number one fan, he cannot wait for the product, the latter reminded him about the times he has asked the producer to make his own song.
Local urban music producers who are also musicians have been applauded for a good job when it comes to making their own songs. Sonye, a singer as well as a producer at Baseline Records in Blantyre, cannot just stop releasing hit songs. Another artist who doubles as a producer and a singer, Stitch Fray, is a force to reckon with when it comes to good music.
Tricky-Beats, just like his brother Percy ‘Propee’ Manyozo, remain the country’s gigantic producers yet to create their own songs. When they both have their hands on a song, high definition quality is guaranteed, no wonder they are recognised.
