Teen commits suicide by hanging in Thyolo

An 18-year old boy in Bvumbwe, Thyolo has committed suicide by hanging himself on the veranda of his uncle’s house on Monday.

Police identified the boy as Omex Mangwe and said he was found hanging from the top of the veranda at his uncle’s house at 9 pm on Monday.

According to the law enforcers, the deceased was an orphan and in the past year he was staying in Lilongwe but he moved to Bvumbwe where he started staying with his uncle.

Police however are suspecting no foul play in the boy’s death and a post-mortem showed that the boy died due to suffocation.

Mangwe hailed from Chide Village in the area of traditional authority Bvumbwe in Thyolo.
