The Malawi Parliament has allocated an additional 5 billion Kwacha to the ministry of health, a moved described as good by the ministry.
Minister responsible Peter Kumpalume said he is happy to know that the legislators care for the health sector.
“It is very overwhelming that MPs have approved the amount to my ministry as it is a very important sector of every country,” said Kumpalume.
He added that the heart of every country is the ministry of health and if the ministry fails then everyone fails.
Kumpalume further said that the issue of lack of equipment in various public hospitals is due to the break down of existing equipment which takes time to be repaired.
According to Kumpalume, Malawians must help the health facilities by providing hospital equipment so that lives should be saved.
