…we want players to rest

Malawi super league champions Nyasa Big Bullets vice general secretary Kelvin Moyo has revealed that his team will not be taking part in bonanzas during the off-season period.

The remarks comes barely days after reports that they will be a bonanza between Bullets, Civo Service United, Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers from which K5 million will be given to the winners.

But speaking to Malawi24, Moyo said Bullets players needs a rest before the kick off of the new season in April.

“We will not be part of any bonanza because we need our players to rest as such, we will reject any advances on our team to take part,” said Moyo.

On transfers, the former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) sports journalist said talks with Civo are going on very well for the services of John Lanjesi and Emmanuel Zoya.

They want 70 percent of the transfer fee so we are still negotiating but everything will be wrapped up very soon.

Bullets won back to back Super League title last season by setting up their own record of finishing the league with four games to play.

They also broke Mighty Wanderers’s record of finishing the season with more than 65 points.

The Blantyre based giants have brought in Muhamad Sulumba and Amadu Makawa from Wanderers and Dedza Young Soccer in the on-going transfer window.
