Malawi’s ex ruling People’s Party (PP) chairperson for youth in the central region, Kondwani Ng’ong’ola, has announced that he has left the party.

Ng’ong’ola made the announcement on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 saying people are just being appointed to different positions without following the party’s constitution.

He said in the party there are so many disputes, which is contrary to his wishes. He further condemned PP president Joyce Banda for making several appointments in the party saying this proves that there is no democracy in the PP.

Last week, Banda appointed Uladi Mussa and Kamlepo Kalua PP as acting president and third vice president, respectively.

Ng’ong’ola’s move comes days after some political experts condemned people who quit political parties for no reasons saying this is as sign of greed in politicians.

Earlier this week, former cabinet minister in the United Democratic Front (UDF) era, Ziliro Chibambo said these people are moving from one party to the other to get money and better position and not for the good of the country’s democracy.
