“Homosexuality is not a sin,” says Pastor Fletcher Kaiya

Veteran Christian broadcaster who used to host gospel programmes on state broadcaster MBC, Pastor Fletcher Kaiya, has said that homosexuality is not a sin.

In a media debate that was followed by Malawi24, Kaiya told the host Bayana Chunga that homosexuality is not a sin.

“There are two sides to this issue. For men who choose to marry other men, that is a sin. However for men who are born attracted to other men, it’s not a sin,” said Kaiya.

He later quoted a verse from the book of Romans arguing that God created homosexuals and therefore there was a need to love them.

Kaiya further said that homosexuality wasn’t a foreign concept. He argued that it has always been happening in Malawi only that it was not mentioned in public.
