After their win over Civo in the final match of the season, Malawi champions, Big Bullets have set a new record as the 66 points they have are the most any team has ever amassed since the inception of the league.

The people’s team were officially crowned as Super League champions on Sunday after beating Civo United 3-1 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe and have managed to lift the league with 66 points from 28 Super League matches.

They got their goals through Mussa Manyenje, Chiukepo Msowoya and an own goal from Richard Chande whereas Civo scored their consolation goal through Gerard Nkungula.

It is now no secret that Bullets – after being the first team to be crowned as Super League champions with the highest number of points – have also scored the highest number of goals for any Super League champions having hit the back of the net on 52 occasions.

This season, the people’s teams have been a team of record-breaking as they have been breaking different types of records in Malawi’s elite league.

Out of the 15 Super League teams, Big Bullets fc are the only who had all their players scoring a goal and this is the first time in the history of Malawi’s elite league that a team had all its outfield players finding the back of the net at least once.

Big Bullets also managed to avoid defeat at their own backyard as they played all their 14 home league games without losing any.

They have also seen their name written in the Super League history books as the first ever team in Malawi’s elite league to register 20 league wins.
