Jamaican reggae outfit, the Royal Morgan Heritage Family, have responded to criticism leveled against them over lip synchronization during their show at Silver Stadium in Malawi capital Lilongwe.

Speaking to local media yesterday, the group revealed that they communicated beforehand to the organizers, Born African Promotions, about their mode of performance at Silver Stadium.

They also justified use of portable pre-recorded device saying it was due to absence of some band members who play instruments. Malawians who patronized the show were left frustrated since their experience did not match the hype which accompanied media publicity of the concert. However a selected few individuals argued that they enjoyed every moment of the performance.

Misho Zezerini Naphi Katunga, a Blantyre based lady who was in attendance at Silver Stadium, wrote on Facebook, “Ine nde kunandikomeratu” (I enjoyed the concert),

Another patron, a hip hop icon in the name of Third Eye, also said he enjoyed every second of the event. A video clip that has gone viral on social media shows the rapper telling a Times Television presenter, Annie Matumbi, about his positive feelings towards the show.

With Malawians still bemoaning loss of their money paid to earn admission, Morgan Heritage has promised to hold a show of similar nature next year where people will be charged half of what they have paid this year.

Mr Mojo, a band member, is reported to have said that the show was on the blink of cancellation after it was confirmed that some band members were not going to make the Malawian trip.

As they continue with their African tour which marked its onset in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia is their next destination. They are expected to perform in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 8th January 2016.
