Malawi’s veteran artist Lucius Banda had his show at Zitherepano Club end prematurely yesterday because of two men who were openly hugging and kissing each other near the stage.
Banda was unable to proceed with his show because two people believed to be gay were kissing each other, a thing that made fans to watch.
In a statement, Banda has apologized to his fans and has strongly condemned the behaviour of the men who hijacked his show.
“Let me apologize to my fans on what happened at Zithere yesterday. My show ended in suspense because of two men who started cuddling and kissing each other near my stage,” the musician said.
He further warned all Malawians that he will not tolerate such behaviour taking place on front of him. He also said his music is not funded by any one.
“Please never do that in front of me again remember I am not musically funded by any western country. My donors who are God, father, son, and Holy Ghost have attached their funding with a no sodomy condition. So I don’t want to violate the deal,” Banda said.
This comes days after the musician criticised government for releasing two gay men and suspending laws that criminalises same-sex relationships in the country.
