  1. Mighty  Wanderers are looking to rope in Malawi super league relegated side Dedza Young Soccer Coach Millias Pofera as an assistant to their mentor Elia Kananji.

Pofera, whose charges have been demoted to Central Region Football League after a poor run of form in the country’s flagship  Super League, is said to be in talks with the Blantyre outfit.

Media reports indicate that he made the trip to Blantyre on Friday. However, the two parties in talks have decided to keep their lips sealed on the matter.

Despite the silence, a Wanderers official, Mike Butao has admitted they are in need of an assistant coach. He was told a local radio station how the absence of an assistant coach has reduced them to underachievers this season. The Lali Lubani boys claimed a single silverware out of a possible four this season.

They were hoping for a treble after winning the Carlsberg Bank Cup but soon after the triumph, events took an ugly twist.

They have finished fourth in the TNM Super League which their bitter rivals, Bullets FC have successfully defended.

The Nomads last won the Super League title in 2006. A top four finish has earned them an automatic qualification in next year’s Standard Bank Cup.

Their participation in the competition this year was decided by votes having finished out of top six in the league last season.
