After failing to make it into Malawi’s Super League last season, Chilumba Barracks has now achieved their goal following a confirmation from the Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) that the army team has won this year’s Simama League with two games to play.

The Soldiers have a whooping 83 points, with Karonga United coming second with 75 points from the same number of games.
Fixture secretary for NRFA Ollens Msonda confirmed the development and was quick to say the 2015 League Season was outstanding.
“Yes the Soldiers have made it to the Super League following an outstanding 2015 season.”
“We are happy with how the season has ended, we recorded some few challenges as to compared to last season,” he said.
On their part, the team’s mentor Kelvin Kuyewawa said his boys have got all what it takes to be a force to reckon with.
Chilumba replaces fellow army team Airborne Rangers who got relegated from the top flight last week.
For the first time in fove years, Northen Region will have three teams following Mzuni FC’s survival from the chop.
