Kabwila: Says DPP will not win.

Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says Peter Mutharika’s  led Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) does not deserve to win any position in the by-elections scheduled on the 22 December this year.

The by-elections will take place in one constituency in Zomba, in one ward in Lilongwe and in another ward in Mchinji.

However, Spokesperson for MCP Jessie Kabwila said the party is ready for the by-elections and it want to prove to the DPP that the ruling party has failed Malawians.

“We are ready for the by-elections and we want to show the DPP that people have lost confidence in its government,” said Kabwila.

She further said that the elections will help MCP to dominate the eastern region which was occupied by the People’s Party (PP) and the United Democratic Front (UDF).

“We want to dominate in the Eastern region which is now occupied by other parties and people in Zomba-Chisi know well who is responsible for the mess in the country,” she said.

Kabwila added that the ruling DPP has shown lack of good governance as hospitals are not functional, government has no tangible plan on how it will fight the looming hunger and yet the president went to the United Nations general assembly with bloated delegation.

She said they expect good results and it will be unfortunate if other parties choose to rig election but if all goes well MCP will take the seats.
