Malawi Police in Ntchisi are keeping in custody a 25-year-old man for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
The incident happened between November 11 to November 15 this year at Sabwe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko.
It is alleged that the suspect, Yohane Manda, is already married to another woman and is blessed with two children.
The suspect had to propose love to the victim who childishly accepted and eloped her on November 11 this year to his home where he had been staying as a married couple and as a second wife which his parents had been looking for her.
It was until November 16 this year when the victim’s brother, Spear Kawenjere, received a tip that the suspect had married the victim hence he went to pick her but was beaten up and sustained an injury on the left arm and had to be refered to police for assistance which ended up into arrest of the suspect.
Enquries carried had revealed that the victim is young not fit to be married and was born in 2000 and was in standard 6 at Mboma Primary school. Manda is from Sabwe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi and has admitted the charge.
On his arrest,the man said,ndanchindabeee.
