Catholic priest wins Toyota Vitz in Nomads competition

A Malawian Catholic Priest, Fr. Paul Lapozo from Nsanama Parish in Machinga became the lucky winner of Toyota Vitz in the Mighty Wanderers SMS competition final draw which was conducted at the team’s club house on Wednesday afternoon.

The competition which was launched in August this year, registered 82, 724, with the winner sending 124 messages.

According to Steve Palemeza, who is the club’s head of marketing, said the competition was open to every soccer loving Malawian.

“The competition was open to every soccer loving Malawian. Every SMS was costing K50 and we have splashed several prizes to the lucky winners, with the luckies winner walking away with the Toyota Vitz,” he said.

During the draw, Father Lapozo emerged the big winner for the second time, following the revelations that he also won K200 000 during the last draw.

When contacted, the Catholic Priest could not believe the good news in front of Sports Journalists.

“What? I have won a car? Thank you very much God. God is awesome, I am speachless,” he said.

On his part, general secretary for the club Mike Butao was delighted with how the whole competition was conducted since its launching it some few months ago.

“We are very happy that the competition went on very well. We aimed at advertising our sponsors and not making profits. We are also very happy that we returned back our money which was invested in the competition,” he said. T
