Malawi national football team and Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Ng’ambi has been ruled out of Wednesday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup preliminary first leg qualifier against Tanzania due to an injury.

Ng’ambi was included in the 20 man squad by Flames mentor Ernest Mtawali but the midfielder failed to join his team mates in Dar Es Salaam on Monday.

Surprisingly, he featured for his club in the 3-nil defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The midfielder was left frustrated when he was left to warm the bench by Mtawali during Malawi’s 2-2 draw to Swaziland in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

After the match, Ng’ambi publicly showed his disappointment when he told local reporters that his snubbing was an indication that he was no longer in the plans of Mtawali.

Every proffessional player who was named in the final squad has joined camp apart from the former Big Bullets and MDC United midfielder.
