Jiwa- Malawi24
There are security fears in Blantyre after an auditor was reportedly abducted by unknown people earlier today.

Nusrat Osman Jiwa, who works for Audit Consult Limited, was reportedly taken away in Mount Pleasant by people travelling in a grey/silver Nissan Dualis bearing registration number 6956.

The circumstances surrounding the reported abduction remain unclear, with her family saying they do not know who took her or what could have motivated the incident.

Her husband, Nazil Osman, confirmed the development but said he had no idea about his wife’s whereabouts or the people behind the incident.

“I don’t know where she is or how she is. My wife is an auditor and I have no issues with anyone,” he said.

Nusrat works at Audit Consult Limited’s offices at Keza Office Park in Blantyre.

An appeal has since gone out to members of the public to provide any information that could help police establish her whereabouts.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the reported abduction.

The incident comes months after the Malawi Police Service confirmed the abduction of Sameer Sacranie, 46, who was then Managing Director of Crossroads Hotel.

Sacranie was kidnapped at his workplace in Lilongwe on February 6 this year before he was later found alive and unharmed.
