The CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has appointed Reverend Dr Brian Theu as Vice Chancellor of the University of Livingstonia (UNILIA), filling a position that has been vacant since March.
The announcement was made at the Synod’s 40th Biennial General Assembly, which ended at Kamuzu Academy in Kasungu.
Theu, who previously served as College Registrar for the university’s Ekwendeni Campus, succeeds the late Very Reverend Associate Professor Timothy Nyasulu, who died in March this year.
Professor Bernard Kamanga has been re-appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor.
The Synod also announced several changes to the university’s senior management team.
Reverend Wisdom Mwale has been appointed University Registrar, replacing Reverend Isaac Malongo, who has been appointed Principal of Ekwendeni Campus.
Dr Ronald Chibwe is the new Director of Planning and Development, while Reverend Cronon Mazunda has been appointed University Librarian.
Reverend L. Moyo has been appointed Registrar for Ekwendeni Campus, while Reverend Dr Levy Nyondo is the new Principal of Kaning’ina Campus.
Reverend William Mtika has been appointed Registrar for Kaning’ina Campus.
The General Assembly also announced changes to the leadership of Synod.
Reverend Wisdom Mwale was elected Moderator, while Reverend Asaiwe Mwenitete was elected Moderator Elect.
Reverend Dr William Tembo was re-elected General Secretary, while Reverend Witken Gama was elected Deputy General Secretary.
The newly appointed university and Synod officials are expected to assume their respective responsibilities following the General Assembly.
