Airtel Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to customer care and service consistency with the reopening of its refurbished shop at Kamuzu International Airport, signalling what the company describes as a people-centred approach to business.

The airport outlet, unveiled on Tuesday, is the first of 42 Airtel shops nationwide set for refurbishment, a move the company says is aimed at maintaining high service standards across all customer touchpoints.

Airtel Malawi Managing Director Aashish Dutt said the company places customers at the heart of its operations, stressing that every interaction should leave clients feeling welcomed, valued, and well served.

He noted that the airport is a critical service point, often handling last-minute customer needs for travellers entering or leaving the country, which demands efficiency, warmth and reliability from Airtel staff.

Dutt added that Airtel’s customer service executives are well-trained and experienced, with a strong understanding of both customer needs and the company’s products, enabling them to consistently deliver quality service.

Malawi Airports Limited Chief Executive Officer Victor Lungu praised Airtel for aligning its refurbishment with the airport’s broader modernisation programme aimed at improving passenger experience.

Lungu said the upgraded shop supports the growing number of passengers passing through Kamuzu International Airport and complements ongoing efforts to enhance the facility’s outlook and functionality.
