Nigerian Oliver Twist star Oladapo Oyebanji, better known as D’banj has been arrested.
The musician was arrested and detained on Tuesday, on allegations of corruption. According to reports, the singer connived with some government officials in the corrupt practices.
It is alleged that he was diverting money earmarked for N-Power project, an empowerment programme set up in 2016 to mitigate youth unemployment rate.
Investigators further reveal that in his collaboration with the compromise government officials, he introduced ghost beneficiary into the payroll of the scheme.
The stipend to the ghost beneficiaries was then paid to accounts which are allegedly linked to the Pop star. However, it is not clear as to how much money was abused.
