Students at Bunda campus of Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) are to go to school soon as academic and support staff at the college have ended their strike.
President for the University Workers Trade Union (UWTU) for Bunda College Winchester Mvula disclosed that management has agreed to give them an increment on their salaries following a meeting held on Friday last week.
“Our demand was at 30 percent, they gave us 10 percent in July and 20 percent was remaining, the collective bargaining agreed to have 15 percent,” said Mvula.
He added that the staff are to resume work this week for commencement of classes at the college.
Meanwhile, the college is yet to announce the date when students are to resume learning.
