Maule to face Moyale at Civo

The 2016 Presidential Cup final will be played at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) says.

Its a repeat of the 2012 final where Nyasa Big Bullets got the better of Moyale Barracks 1-nil courtesy of a third minute strike from Gabadinho Mhango.

The FA’s competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka told the local media that all is set for the showdown.

“First of all, let me congratulate Big Bullets and Moyale Barracks for making it through to the finals. The two teams will battle it out for the top prize at Civo Stadium on 16th July, 2016 in Lilongwe.

“Overall, we are delighted with the 2016 Presidential Cup so far and we believe it bears testimony to the strength of the teams that took part in this competition starting from the districts to the national level,” he said.

Bullets knocked out defending champions Mafco 3-nil on Saturday afternoon.

Moyale booked their place by defeating 2009 winners Mighty Wanderers 1-nil at Mzuzu Stadium.
