Malawi’s hip hop legend Barry One continues to dish out ear catching music with his two week old Kudikila buzzing in a formula of its own.

The legend dropped the hard hitting single that features former E-wallet talent show participant, Ernest Massi, two weeks ago.

The song started making noise the very first night it premiered on MBC Radio 2 FM in Made on Monday programme that is hosted by celebrity radio personality, Joy Nathu.

This is one of the rapper’s outcomes since returning to gospel music after releasing Suli Wekha featuring Saint, Ndimtsatira featuring Dan Lu, and Wandichotsa featuring Nepman – tracks with positive messages that have been moving many souls.

However, these follow after his successful music career as a secular artist.

His recent song has become one of the most sought after as evidenced by many requests it gets in daily radio shows. The song however does not seem to find space on Malawi’s major music sites despite the passage of time since its release.

Speaking to Malawi24 within the week, Barry One assured his fans that he will make the visuals for the song available on all local television stations first before deciding on his next move with the audio.

“Kudikila is already on YouTube and it will be available to all the local stations from next week. I have been busy pushing other things and that has driven my attention a bit from the video but trust me from next week it will be on all local stations as for the audio on music sites, that will be confirmed as time goes,” said Barry.

The Blantyre based rapper is one of the pioneers of local hip hop having started the journey in the late 90s.

He has three albums under his name with his fourth awaiting launch on 10th September at Robins Park in Blantyre. His trending hits are in his fourth album titled Maso Atseguka which is understood to be a work in progress.

Barry’s name has refused to fade in the game despite the changing local hip hop trends. Since the late 90s up to date he has remained outstanding making him a legendary figure in local showbiz.

His decision to become a Soldier of Christ has made him inspirational and he wishes to continue spreading the good news through hip hop.
