Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) Lilongwe campus students are to release a movie titled “Conception of the Deception”.
According to the movie writer Linda Banda who is also a student at the institution, the movie is about a girl who deliberately squandered her opportunities of going further with education.
“It is a story of a young school girl who messed up with her future and ended up facing domestic violence and abuse,” Linda said.
The director of the movie Gilbert Moyo who is also a tutor at MIJ Lilongwe campus said the project began as a classwork but now it has turned into something that Malawians can view and learn something.
“Every year we make sure that students at certificate level produce a movie because this is another important aspect in journalism hence this project”, Moyo said.
Moyo added that every student who is about to complete certificate level is supposed to produce a certain project as an assurance that the student is fully equipped to serve Malawians.
One of the actresses Hannah Mlengwe who played the part of Mrs Gondwe said Malawians must expect something informative and educative in the movie.
“The film is aimed at encouraging girls on the importance of pursuing with education and informing them some of the consequences of messing up with education,” Hannah said.
Currently the movie is undergoing comprehensive compilation and it will be released soon.
