Super League preview: Nomads play at home today

After that impressive come back  against Silver Strikers in their TNM Super league opener last weekend, Mighty Be Forward look forward to stick to their guns today as they play host to Dwangwa United at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The Nomads came from behind to seal an all important 2-1 over the Central Bankers with sublime performance by Peter Wadabwa who scored the winner against his former club.

While rookies Dwangwa United were beaten 1 nil by Blue Eagles at Chitowe ground in Nkhotakota last week.

Dwangwa mentor MacDonald Mtetemera maintains that much as the Nomads are quite a big team and that his boys are just fresh in the league, they should not be picked as punching bags in the fixture.

Mtetemera believes that his charges have the guts to strike a surprise in their meeting with the Lali Lubani side this afternoon.

Nomads team Manager Steve Madeira has since said that the players have been cautioned against complacency. He also says the team will approach the match just as any other game saying that it would be hard to play against a side they know little about.

In another fixture, Moyale Barracks who drew 0-0 with Nyasa Big Bullets meet fellow militants Kamuzu Barracks at Mzuzu stadium.

The Kaningina boys produced a stunning performance against Bullets but the final touch lacked in them so was the case with the home side which was denied in a number of occasion by the soldiers keeper Juma Chikwenga who also saved a Muhamad Sulumba spot kick before parrying away the forward’s shot in a rebound.

And the other fixture involves Silver Strikers who host Azam Tigers.

The bankers will need to forget the tormenting defeat last weekend when a Danken Nyoni failed to stand the test of the Nomads and today they play Tigers who had to come from behind twice to savage a draw against rookies Maxi Bullets at Kamuzu stadium on Sunday.

While at Nankhaka Blue Eagles host Epac.

Blue Eagles come from a win against Dwangwa United while Epac will need to forget their 1 nil loss to Red Lions.

An average of two goals in every match in the opening week of the Tnm Super League-matches which produced up to 14 goals.
