The rebuilding exercise at Silver Strikers has taken another step following revelations that the club fired seven players last week.
According to information at hand, the central bankers resolved to fire Mabvuto Khodzomba, Dave Moya, Ndaona Daisi, Blessings Banda, Dailes Yasin, John Banda and Kondwani Chirwa.
The club however rescinded its decision to fire midfielder Peter Pindani and veteran striker Rodrick Gonani following the departures of Green Harawa and Ndaziona Chatsalira to Mozambique.
The team’s secretary Chimwemwe Mkhwimba confirmed the development but was quick to assure all Silver fans that the team is in a very good shape.
“Let me first of all thank the released players for serving the club wholeheartedly during their days here. It’s true; we have relieved them of their duties, wishing them all the best of luck.
“The decision to release some of these players is in line with what we have planned for the new season. We had a post-mortem from which we agreed to start a rebuilding exercise and this is part of it,” said Mkhwimba.
The Bankers have recruited Levison Maganizo, Thuso Paipi, Mac Fodya and Brighton Munthali from Wizards FC. They have also recruited Chipiku Central Region Football League top goal scorer Clement Trota from Nsundwe FC.
The area 47 based giants had a very bad season in 2015 where they finished 5th in the league and without any silverware and are hoping to have a better 2016 soccer season.
