Mighty Wanderers supporters have elected a new supporters executive committee which will run for the next two years.
Before the polls, Yona Malunga, who was battling it out with Yamikani Kaliyapa for the position of chairman, pulled out of the race saying the elections were not free and fair, allowing his competitor to win with a landslide victory.
On the position of the team’s first vice chairman, James Chiswankhondo got 328 votes against Luka John’s 234 and General Chapotera’s 77 votes.
The Nomads supporters were in total control as they booted out Paul Mphepo from the position of general secretary in favour of Wisdom Patel who will now be deputised by Helbert Mapira as the vice general secretary.
Bushire Winto got the better of former treasurer Chipiliro Chilambe and Anthony Chawanda with 339 votes against 17 and 102 votes respectively.
On the position of vice treasurer, Jimmy Muta won with 204 votes against Samuel Chikampana’s 101 and Foster Phiri’s 22 votes.
Helbert Mlaka, Phillip Master, Majid Julius, Charles Lizigen, Bright M’memo, Olivie Kandota and Batholomew Chimpango were ushered in as executive committee members.
The club is expected to hold elections for its main executive committee next Saturday.
