Man to spend 2 years in prison for stealing car parts

CourtLimbe second grade magistrate on Wednesday sentenced Patrick Chapita to two years imprisonment with hard labour for stealing car parts worth K60,000.

According to Southern Region Police assistant public relations officer, Widson Nhlane, the incident happened on 5 January in Kanjedza township where Chapita stole the items in a motor vehicle and was arrested after investigations.

Nhlane said Chapita stole a propeller shaft and a starter motor and was arrested after police investigated the matter.

Chapita was taken to court on 13 January this year and he was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment with hard labour.

He hails from Tayale village, T/A Bvumbwe in Thyolo district.
