With less than three days to go before the opening of local transfer window by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom), Mighty Wanderers have completed signings of Rafique Namwera and Ernest Tambe from lower league side Wizards FC for an undisclosed fee.

According to information gathered by Malawi24, the deals are almost done. Last week, Wizards FC owner Peter Mponda confirmed that Wanderers were clossing in on his two players, making a hint that the deals could soon be completed.

Nomads vice team manager Steve Madeira has just dropped the biggest hint that the duo will be Nomads players within the next few days.

“Let me introduce to you the team’s first two signings of the upcoming campaign, Rafique Namwera and Ernest Tambe, both from Fisd Wizards FC. Many thanks to Peter Mponda, Wizards FC Technical Director and owner,” said Madeira on his Facebook time line.

The Nomads were the biggest spenders in the 2015 transfer window after spending more than K11 million on new players and went on to win the Carlsberg Cup as well as finishing on fourth position in the just ended league campaign.

Mponda will also lose his captain Levison Maganizo and goalkeeper Brighton Munthali to Super League champions Big Bullets.
