People’s Party (PP) spokesperson Ken Msonda has challenged Timothy Mtambo of Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) and Gift Trapence of Centre for Development of the People (CEDEP) that he is ready to meet them in court.

Speaking to Malawi24 on Saturday afternoon, Msonda said that he has been waiting for his summons.

Msonda: Ready for court battle

“My friend as I am talking to you now am just locking my office, for the past days I have been waiting for the letter summoning me to appear in court, if I will not receive it by Monday I will go there myself to ask for it,” said Msonda.

Msonda further urged Malawians to make a proper decision on the legalisation of same sex marriages in the country.

“This battle is not between Msonda against Trapence and Mtambo but God and the devil himself, so Malawians should choose between the side of God and the devil,” added Msonda.

Mtambo and Trapence are reported to have filed a complaint in court over Msonda’s Facebook post.
In the Facebook post Msonda wrote: “Gays and Lesbians are worse than dogs; sons and daughters of the evil one-Jabulosi their father. Arresting them won’t address this problem because sooner or later they are being released on bail; the best way to deal with the problem is to kill them.”

The two, Trapence and Mtambo, argued that Msonda breached a law under Section 124 of the country’s Penal Code.
