Key responsibilities

• Install refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance by conducting routine refrigeration and air-conditioning system inspections, cleaning, lubrication, filter replacement, and equipment servicing to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair faults by troubleshooting refrigeration and air-conditioning system problems using testing instruments and repair or replace defective components.
• Check operating pressures, temperatures, and energy consumption to ensure systems are functioning efficiently and within design parameters.
• Repair or replace compressors, motors, thermostats, valves, and control devices.
• Maintain service records and prepare maintenance reports.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance.
• Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Qualifications and experience

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• Malawi TEVET Certificate Level 3 or National Trade Test Grade 1 and Malawi Advanced Craft Certificate in Refrigeration and air conditioning.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience.
