A kidnapping in broad daylight has sent shockwaves through Blantyre, with police now putting K30 million on the table for anyone who can help bring the missing woman home.
The Malawi Police Service (MPS) says Nasrat Osman, 47, a British national, was abducted at about 12:30pm on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Blantyre.
According to police, four men are believed to have taken Osman before fleeing in a grey Nissan Dualis bearing registration number CA 6956.
The circumstances surrounding the kidnapping remain unclear as police intensify investigations to establish who was behind the incident and where the victim is being held.
The MPS has offered K30 million to anyone who provides credible information that directly leads to Osman’s successful rescue and the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the perpetrators.
Police say the reward is aimed at encouraging members of the public with information to come forward and assist investigators in breaking the case.
The service has assured whistleblowers that all information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Police have also urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could compromise the investigation.
