A solitary goal from Gaddie Chirwa was enough to send Mighty Mukuru Wanderers to the top of TNM Super League standings in their 1-0 win over Mafco at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city of Blantyre on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Harrison men went to the match under pressure as the gaffer has been pressured to perform better in the league by his team’s management which claims it gave him all the arsenal needed.

Following the result, Wanderers are on top with 36 points level with Chitipa United, only that the Blantyre based side has got goal difference advantage.

Dedza were playing against struggling Zomba based soldiers Red Lions and 2 goals to nil were enough to add salt on the wounds of the soldiers.

The result has pushed up Dedza to position six on the standings with 25 points from 19 matches whereas Red Lions are second from the bottom with 18 points.

Action will continue in the top flight in the mid week as Nyasa Big Bullets will play against Civil Service United in a match which they need to win to reclaim their top sport.
