Appetising entertainment events to conquer Malawi this weekend
Malawi is to have a red letter weekend with great entertainment events lined up to escort the week to its final resting destination in different parts of the country.
The country’s Southern Region will be worth a visit as you refresh in readiness for another hectic week.
The cities of Blantyre and Zomba will be on fire as they host once in a blue moon occasions.
Tonight, people will amass at Comesa Hall in Blantyre as they will witness the crowning of the new queen in Miss Blantyre beauty pegeant.
The year long reign of Chisomo Machero comes to an end after a wonderful service to the nation. The phenomenon attracts music performances from some of Malawi’s music greats.
Afro and RNB singers; Lulu, Blaze and Lcee will light up the Comesa Hall tonight.
In the old capital, Zomba, bones will crack in an effort to showcase dancing skills as Chancellor College hosts a social weekend.
It will start with an open air gig at the College’s Complex before a variety show tomorrow at the Great Hall.
Major artists scheduled to perform at the show include; Malinga Mafia Blaze, Blackjack, Charisma and Moses Makawa.
On Sunday the calendar of events take us back to the commercial capital, Blantyre, where the much anticipated event, Urban Music Party Awards, will be taking place at the BAT ground.
Entertainers who have contributed resoundingly in the creative industry will have their efforts recognised.
This will have one major surprise, a worldly known musician will take to stage. Organisers have deliberately kept the artist’s name under armpits to avoid ruining the surprise.
Last year Zambian Chimz Kelly of the Dorika fame was the guest international act. Major artists from the motherland will set the mood jovial as they will take turns on stage.
Some of the artists on the list of performers are; Tay Grin, Theo Thompson, Purple C and South African based dancehall king Gemini Major.
