MESN members urged to work in unity

The Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN) has called on all members to work in unity towards protection and safeguarding votes in the 2019 elections.

Speaking to members of the press during presentation of the 2016-2020 MESN strategic plan, MESN board chairperson Steve Duwa said members are to hold hands together in preparation for the electoral process.

“The advocacy is not only for the MESN board or MESN Secretariat. It is the duty of all members of the network.There is a need for concerted efforts, coming from different members of the network all championing the same cause.

“This is not the time for us to speak in different voices on different issues with an aim of rallying people towards the same goal,” said Duwa.

Duwa further urged the members to achieve the goal of having credible electoral process that caters for all people in Malawi.

“United we will not only stand but also we will achieve while divided we will fall and see our plans crumble before our eyes,” added Duwa.

The MESN 2016-2020 strategic plan will undertake on the implementation of non-legislative reforms of Malawi’s electoral process and systems.
