The MK1.7 Billion corruption case involving ex Malawi President Bakili MuluzI and his ex assistant Lyness Whiskey still has its progress unknown as on a day Justice Mclean Kamwambe was supposed to make a verdict on its progress, it was revealed he was busy with other engagements in Lilongwe.
Kamwambe yesterday was supposed to give a verdict whether to discontinue the case or not after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) deputy Reyneck Matemba who was lead state prosecutor and another prosecutor Chrispin Khunga asked Kamwambe to stand aside from the case.
Kamwambe granted the two the application, a move which prompted the defence team to ask the same court to discharge the case.
Court is to announce of the day the verdict will be made.
For over six years, Muluzi has been answering charges of corruption in which he is accused of squandering public funds amounting to 1.7 billion Kwacha.
