Big Bullets technical director Billy Tewesa has said that defender George Nyirenda will face disciplinary action for lack of sportsmanship after he did not react well to being substituted by his coach Franco Ndawa.

Got angry after being substituted: Nyirenda

Tewesa was speaking this at Kamuzu Stadium after his team beat MDF Marine 3 nil in the presidential cup to advance to the round of 16 of this year’s cup.

“We will for sure do something because as Nyasa Big Bullets we don’t tolerate such behaviour from a player of George’s calibre, so we will do something,” said Tewesa.

Nyirenda was among the starting eleven that beat Marine 3 nil in the Presidential Cup and the controversy came in the 39th minute of the first half when he was substituted by his coach.

Nyirenda did not welcome the idea of being substituted in the opening half as he was seen insulting the team’s supporters with his hand and he was also spotted shouting at his fellow players who were telling him to accept the coach’s decision.

Instead of going to the team’s bench where his fellow players were, Nyirenda went straight to the dressing room after he paved the way for Davie Ng’ambi and he did not show up again until the final whistle.

Meanwhile it is also reported that some Big Bullets players have been having brawls and this is a clear indication that there is lack of discipline at the club.
